The Lake District Pound is our region’s local currency. You can spend it interchangeably with sterling, in businesses where you see the LD£ sign.

It is an annual currency, with exciting new designs launching every year. You can buy LD£ at exchange points throughout the Lake District – including major Post Offices and visitor attractions. There are no charges or commission to pay, and you can always swap back any currency you’re not able to spend during its period of validity.

Everyone can help keep the Lake District special, by spending LD£ in local businesses, or if you collect them, it funds projects that look after our unique landscapes and local communities.

All proceeds are divided between Cumbria Community Foundation and the Lake District Foundation.
