Holehird helps Appleby Town Band buy new instruments

23rd February 2015

Appleby Town Band is celebrating 2015 with new instruments purchased with the help of grants generously awarded by the Holehird Trust, the Hadfield Trust and a Cumbria County Council Community Grant.

A Trombone, Baritone and Tenor Horn were all purchased with the grants as part of a project to equip each section of the band with a new instrument.

The drum kit was bought from Band funds and is an exciting new addition to the band which last had a percussion player about 30 years ago.

Membership of the band has grown to 20 players under the leadership of Linda Bainbridge and regularly performs in Appleby and villages in the Eden Valley.

Their next concert is on Saturday 14th March, 2015 in Crosby Ravensworth Village Hall and a Joint concert with Penrith Town Band is being planned for May.

Information on events and joining the band can be found on the website.
