United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Cumbria Community Foundation is committed to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Developed in 2015, the 17 SDGs tackle root causes of poverty and unite us together to make a positive difference to both people and planet.

The goals are based on five pillars for sustainable development: people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership and focus on actions such as ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change.

Through our grant making and your donations, we have been able to help address these global challenges at a local community level. Projects funded during 2021/22 have contributed to these nine SDGs.

Our vision is to create a culture of giving that strengthens and supports the local community in a global context. Cumbria Community Foundation works alongside partners, collaborators, voluntary community groups, charities and donors, inspiring others to take on the challenge of building a better and more sustainable world locally.
