Winter Warmth Appeal

Around 300 people die every year in Cumbria due to cold weather. The Winter Warmth Fund helps older people in Cumbria who struggle to pay their utility bills and are often made to choose between eating and heating. We’re already seeing generous donations roll in from those who are eager to help the cause. If you would like to donate to the fund, click here to find out how.

New Rivers Ride Date Announced

The rescheduled Jennings Rivers Ride date is Sunday 25 May 2014. We hope having the event in spring will provide a dryer and even more enjoyable day for riders. Entries have reopened and you can sign up to take.

Annual General Meeting & Celebration Dinner

This year’s AGM and Celebration Dinner is almost sold out. Sponsored by NMP, the event will take place on Thursday 21st November at Whitehaven Golf Club. AndrewTinkler, Chief Executive at Stobart Group, will be this year’s after dinner speaker. £1,000 Essay Competition Deadline Extended

An annual essay competition aimed at Cumbrian sixth form students has had its deadline extended until Friday 1st November. The winning entry will be awarded £1,000 through the Hunter Davies Fund. More information can be found on our website.

Rural Service is a Lifeline

Northern Fells Group has received nearly £70,000 in grant aid over the past seven years. It provides an important service to residents in the parishes North of Skiddaw and Blencathra.

The activities they provide ensure people feel connected and supported. The minibus service has improved access to local services. Residents have enjoyed meeting their neighbours at social functions and getting involved through the lunch club and drop in sessions.
