Myles, of Great Salkeld, near Penrith, joined the Foundation as Chair in September 2025.

He is also a trustee of the Lake District Calvert Trust and member of Carlisle Cathedral finance committee.

A former Chartered accountant and audit partner with KPMG for over 30 years, Myles has extensive experience of accounting, auditing, corporate governance, internal control and sustainability processes and requirements across a wide range of listed, large private and charitable companies. He has also gained international experience from working in the USA for five years and being President of Accountancy Europe that was based in Brussels.

Myles believes in diversity, equity and inclusion and sees the Cumbria Community Foundation as a key vehicle to helping that happen in Cumbria. He is motivated by the amazing work that is done across Cumbria by the charities and organisations that the Foundation support. As Chair, he wants to ensure that the Foundation continues to grow and develop and support as many organisations across Cumbria as possible.

Myles has lived on a farm in Cumbria since 1993. He is married to a recently retired local GP, and they have two grown up children. He likes walking in the Lakes and enjoys watching cricket and rugby.
