Members Media Kit

Your membership is important and worthy of media attention. Publicity and media coverage will recognise your essential support and encourage others to learn more about and support the Foundation.

We know how incredibly busy you are and to help you communicate your vital support, we’ve provided a members media kit.

We often feature your membership stories in our marketing materials, including our website, newsletters, annual report and social media.

The following information is intended for the use of members and will help you get the recognition you deserve. Here are some suggested ways to announce your membership.

RECOGNITION

It would really help us if you would publicly acknowledge your membership of Cumbria Community Foundation.

If this is something you are able to do, please acknowledge your support in publications, media releases, your website and on social media. You may wish to include our logo or a photo of you and your team holding your certificate.

Place the logo upright and you may include the relevant wording: Individual & Family Membership, Corporate Membership or Voluntary Organisation Membership. Acceptable use of our logo includes, but is not limited to: newsletters, websites and social media channels.

MEDIA RELEASE

You may want to issue a media release announcing your membership. Always try to include pictures of you or your organisation/team. We’re happy to provide a quote for your press release – Relationships Officer, Caroline Adams said: “Our members are very important to us as they are the very foundation of our organisation and link us to our communities. Membership is a great way to regularly support the work of Cumbria Community Foundation. Members enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that they are directly supporting the efforts of the Foundation and are therefore helping Cumbrian communities.”

Not sure what to put in your quote? Here, is a great example of a quote from Kerry Doig, Director of Solomons Europe. She tells us why the Chartered Quantity Surveying Practice wanted to support the Foundation: “We have heard more and more about the important work the Foundation does, and how much their support means to both local communities and individuals. They know where the needs are and get support there quickly – as evidenced through their swift action to tackle the local impacts of the recent pandemic. They are a real backbone for Cumbria’s communities, and we are proud and delighted to join them as corporate members.

SHARE YOUR STORY

We would like to hear why you are a member of the Foundation. If you would like to share a quote and photo with us, we would be very happy to share it on our social media and in our newsletter, please send to rebecca@cumbriafoundation.org.

VIDEO

We are especially keen to receive videos, ideally no more than one minute in length, which highlights why you are a member of the Foundation. Get creative!

Please send any footage to rebecca@cumbriafoundation.org via WeTransfer.

EVENTS

If possible, consider hosting a fundraising event. You could organise a staff walk for the Cumbria Fund or a Bake Off for the Winter Warmth Fund.  You can download our fundraising packs here (coming soon).

You may want to invite media to cover the event and distribute a pre- and post-event press release with the newsworthy highlights, as appropriate.

Please let us know about your events and we would be happy to help you promote them or even join in if that’s possible.
