Helping you fundraise

To get started, have a look at our fundraising tips.

How to collect sponsor money

The best way to fundraise is to use an online giving website. We are registered with JustGiving. It makes collecting sponsorship money easy and convenient for both you and your supporters. Also, JustGiving process all the donations for us and claim any Gift Aid, which saves us a lot of time.

Set up your own JustGiving page

For tips on setting up your page, and how to use social media, e.g. Facebook and Twitter, to maximise your fundraising, click here.

Joining forces

Once you have set up your JustGiving page please add it to our team page, ‘CCF’s Rivers Riders 2012’.  Our team page will show a running total of how much has been raised for us so far, and you will be able to see who’s in the running for the fundraising prizes!  The benefits of joining a team means your page will be seen by other teammates’ sponsors and may result in more donations than you would have had alone.

If you aren’t able to make use of online giving, please download and use our sponsor form.

Fundraising as a team

Are you cycling the Rivers Ride in a team? Click here for information about fundraising together as a team.

Other charities

The Rivers Ride is held to support the work of the Cumbria Community Foundation which in turn supports hundreds of local charities and groups each year.

If you want to raise money for another charity in addition to Cumbria Community Foundation, you will need to set up a separate JustGiving page for each charity (use the same login details), and ask people to donate a bit to each page. You could also set up your own ‘team page’ that groups your pages together, and gives you one link to send to your supporters.

If you are doing the Rivers Ride to raise money for any other charities, we would love to hear from you.  This will give us a better idea of how much the event has raised in total for charity.  Please send us an email (riversride@cumbriafoundation.org) and let us know who you are cycling for and how much you have raised.
