Ian has lived in Cumbria for the past six years but has enjoyed many walking holidays in the Lakes since his schooldays in Morecambe. He wants to support businesses and the wider community in the county.

He currently chairs The Rank Group Plc and is a Governor at the Birmingham City University.

Over the past twenty odd years he has run a variety of businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors in Britain and many countries overseas.
