Grants to individuals and organisations in the former local authority areas of Allerdale and Copeland to enable access to educational and training activities that raise career aspirations, support individuals in becoming “work ready”, facilitate entry into meaningful employment, and remove barriers to employment and economic participation.

Who can apply?
• individuals* aged 18 and over living in the former local authority areas of Allerdale and Copeland
• charitable, not-for-profit organisations** working directly with adults in the former local authority areas of Allerdale and Copeland, which demonstrate clear impact in raising aspirations and employability skills
* Individuals must be supported by a recognised professional, e.g., caseworker, teaching professional, support worker, representative of support organisation, e.g., Citizens Advice.
** Organisations applying for funding are expected to demonstrate that they have secured at least 50% match funding for their project or service as part of their application or are working towards it.
Priority will be given to projects that:
• support unemployed people in gaining skills, training, and employment opportunities
• reach and work with individuals with complex barriers to employment
• help people, particularly those living in areas of high deprivation, move closer towards or into employment
Examples of projects supported:
• accredited courses to develop skills relevant to local industries
• work-readiness programmes, including CV writing, interview preparation, and work placements
• vocational training leading to qualifications
• activities leading to vocational qualifications
If funds allow, he Fund will also consider:
• business mentoring programs for local entrepreneurs and third-sector organisations
• career-linked educational initiatives, such as employer engagement in schools
What the Fund will not support in addition to our normal exclusions:
• expeditions
How much can you apply for?
• grants for individuals will normally be between £500 – £2,000 over one year – please complete this application form
• grants to organisations will be up to £10,000 over one year – please complete this application form
Please note: groups applying for funding are expected to demonstrate that they have secured at least 50% match funding for their project or service as part of their application or are working towards it.
