Grants for charitable groups or individuals with physical disabilities residing within the former local authority area of South Lakeland who require items, facilities, or support to relieve their disability. Priority will be given to individuals.

Who can apply?
• individuals living in the former local authority area of South Lakeland
• charitable groups operating in the same area
Example of items funded:
• electric scooter
• hoist for loading into a car
• orthopaedic chair and/or bed
• disabled access
• laptop, computer or tablet, particularly to assist disabled children
• specialised software and peripherals
• respite care
• outdoor holidays designed for disabled people
What the Fund will not support in addition to our normal exclusions:
• items or services available from the NHS, statutory provision, social services or personal resources,
• ongoing care or items of a repetitive nature
How much can you apply for?
Grants will normally be between £100 to £5,000. If requesting more than this, please contact us.

Conditions & Guidance
Applications can be made by the beneficiary directly or by someone acting on their behalf with their consent. Evidence of disability should be supported by impartial references from independent care professionals such as carers, doctors, consultants or social workers who are familiar with the applicant’s disability. Evidence of income will be requested, and we will carry out independent checks on the authenticity of the application.
It is our policy to pay suppliers directly (whenever possible) against formal invoices supplied prior to delivery of items or services. Quotes must be provided with the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to choose items that are best suited to their individual needs. The items funded become the property of the individual and CCF will not be responsible for repairing, maintaining or insuring them.
