Grants to individuals and organisations in the area of Carlisle City Council which support older people experiencing significant hardship, and who wish to remain in their own homes.
Donor
A bequest from the estate of Janetta T Laidlaw. Janetta was an occupational health specialist who, prior to her retirement, was employed by the Cumbria Health Authority. She was a compassionate, generous person and expressed a wish for a Trust be created to assist older people in remaining in their own homes and for the provision of additional care. Her particular concern was the importance of retaining older people’s dignity.
Who can apply?
• individuals who are supported by health professionals or social workers
• charitable groups helping older people in the area of Carlisle City Council
What the fund will not support in addition to our normal exclusions:
• expeditions
• computers/laptops
How much can you apply for?
Grants will normally be up to £1,000 over one year.
Household income will be considered in the assessment of the application.
Individuals will normally qualify for only one award from the Trust Fund.
