Grants to charitable, not-for-profit organisations to enable them to support their local communities. At Genesis Homes, we’re passionate about supporting communities located close to our developments across Cumbria. Grants are available for projects that help these communities thrive and deliver long term benefits. Current areas of development include Seaton, Carlisle, Penrith, Kendal, Halton, Kirkby Lonsdale, and Penrith.

Genesis Homes is an established homebuilder based in Penrith with developments across Cumbria. The business was started in 2017, and we have proudly built over 750 high-quality homes since then. At Genesis Homes, we strongly believe that building houses is only the start. Our founder, Nicky Gordon, has an inspiring vision that we leave a legacy of not only building homes that stand the test of time, but also of creating a lasting community where social warmth, security in our neighbours, and aspiration is identifiable. We’re dedicated to adding long-term value to the places where we build and helping communities thrive. The Genesis Homes Community Fund was created in 2022 to benefit local people and communities with projects and causes that make a difference. Genesis Homes are interested in building lasting relationships with those carrying out impactful work close to their developments.
Who can apply?
• charitable, not-for-profit organisations
Priority will be given to projects that:
• improve the lives of children and families in need of extra support
• are dedicated to supporting people facing challenges
• provide care and connection for older people
• promote the health and wellbeing of people
• build stronger, more resilient communities
Examples of projects supported:
• environmental improvements to enhance community spaces
• inclusive activities that bring people together and foster social connections
• projects that create new opportunities for young people in rural areas
• equipment for sports training to encourage participation and wellbeing
• projects working with young people to encourage leadership and entrepreneurship
What the fund will not support in addition to our normal exclusions:
• individuals
How much can you apply for?
Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, as Genesis Homes are keen to help as many projects as possible, grants will normally be up to £3,000 over one year.
