Emma has dedicated her career to supporting people, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for those who need them most. With a background in social care, community development, and local government, she brings extensive experience in partnership working, community engagement, and strategic leadership. Her professional experience includes roles such as Community Impact Manager BEC (Energy Coast West Cumbria ) and, more recently, serving as a Cumberland Councillor.

Alongside her professional work, Emma has held a range of voluntary and governance roles, giving her a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing communities across Cumbria. She is passionate about bringing people and organisations together to achieve positive, lasting change and believes that local voices should be at the heart of decision-making.

Emma joined the Cumbria Community Foundation board of trustees because she is committed to helping build stronger, more inclusive communities and recognises the important role CCF plays in supporting local people and organisations. She is particularly passionate about tackling inequality, increasing opportunities, and ensuring that everyone has the chance to reach their potential.

Known for her energy, integrity, and determination, Emma hopes to contribute to the Foundation’s future by helping strengthen partnerships, champion community-led solutions, and support initiatives that create a lasting positive impact across Cumbria.
