Sarah Snyder


Sarah SnyderSarah is an anthropologist turned theologian working with the Cambridge Interfaith Programme and now directing the new international centre of reconciliation at Rose Castle, near Carlisle.

She and her husband are trustees of Derwentwater youth hostel and are especially committed to providing opportunities for young people in Cumbria.

Sarah grew up overseas but spent every summer in Grasmere with her grandparents, eventually moving to Keswick in 2000.

She did her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Cambridge before joining the BBC as a documentary producer, leaving to work as a mediator with communities experiencing conflict.

She and her husband have lived and worked with communities all over the world, but always return to Cumbria, where they now share home with four teenagers.
