John Whittle

Originally from Warwickshire with Weardale family John went to school in Solihull and read BA Social Science (Leicester) and became a Lecturer in Geography. Later he was awarded MA Education (Warwick)and became a Headteacher of 2 comprehensive schools over 17 years.

John has lived in Eden for the last 20 years and is now retired.

Served on Heritage Lottery Fund NW Committee ( 2005 – 11) and served as Dep. Chair Cumbria Crime Stoppers. Presently Fellrunner Driver, Lake District National Park Volunteer and Trainer. Chair of Penrith Mountain Rescue Team and still on call!

Particularly interested in accessing opportunities to all young people and supporting rural communities.
