Aim:
to support small, voluntary and community groups and organisations enabling them to continue or expand their work including advocacy, community voice and service provision for local people within the region

Who can apply?
• groups helping people facing disadvantage
• applications from new and small groups are particularly welcome

Examples of activities supported:
• singing for fun workshops
• young carers’ ocean voyage
• refurbishment of community centre
• safety equipment
• recruiting, training and supporting volunteers
• rewiring and suspended ceiling
• performing arts

Priority will be given to projects which support one of the Foundation’s aims:
• tackling disadvantage in rural communities
• tackling disadvantage in pockets of deprivation including the 20% most deprived wards
• supporting disadvantaged children and young people
• hidden and emerging need

and key groups:
• older adults
• people with mental health needs
• children and young people
• people on low incomes

The Fund will not support:
• computers
• expeditions
• individuals
• non-charitable sports or arts
• outings except in special circumstances
• photocopiers
• promotion of religious doctrine
• revenue costs except where it can be shown that a grant will help the sustainability of the group
• vehicle purchase costs

How much can you apply for?
• Minimum grant £500. There is no maximum grant but is likely to be under £1,000
