SUMMARY:Empowering Creativity: Cumbria Cultural Fund relaunch
DESCRIPTION:Empowering Creativity is an evening reception to mark the relaunch of the Cumbria Cultural Fund\, which was created by inspirational patron of the arts\, Mary Burkett\, to support individuals striving to reach the highest levels of achievement and excellence in their chosen field of the arts. \nMary would have been 100 in October\, which is why this is a fitting time to relaunch the fund and to celebrate her life. \nWe have recently carried out a review into the purpose of the fund and will be sharing the findings\, together with plans for its future development. \nThe evening will also showcase talent supported by the fund to date\, from opera and poetry to stand-up comedy and more. If you would like to join us for this very special evening\, please reserve your place.

SUMMARY:Annual Celebration Dinner 2021
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our Annual Celebration Dinner on Thursday 4th November at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal to celebrate being “Stronger Together”. \nThe last 18 months have seen unprecedented times\, with many people across Cumbria facing hardship and continuing to struggle as we begin to recover from the pandemic. \nThe pandemic has encouraged a new spirit of partnership and philanthropy across the county for the good of the wider community. Cumbria Community Foundation was at the heart of the response\, working alongside others\, to distribute £3 million in grants raised specifically to address needs exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. \nThis is also the year when the Foundation reached the significant milestone of distributing more than £50 million in grants since it was founded in 1999. But the focus of our celebrations over the course of the evening will be our partnerships. We are delighted to announce that two of our partners and fundholders\, Jim Bowers and Family and Womble Bond Dickinson have generously sponsored our annual dinner event this year. \nIt is those partnerships with our fundholders\, our corporate and individual members\, our friends in local and national government\, other regional and national funders\, as well as third sector partners and other organisations working for what’s best for Cumbria\, that help us to address the challenges and inequalities that many people are faced with in our county. \nWe will hear from Des Moore\, CEO of The Cumberland Building Society\, who will be interviewed about his perspectives on business in Cumbria\, the challenges facing the Society and its commitment to communities\, as well as some of the groups that we have supported over the past year. \nThe event starts at 5.45pm with a drinks reception in the Foyer before the main event in the Kendal Suite Function room. The evening is scheduled to finish at 11pm. \nTickets \nTickets for the Annual Dinner are now on sale \nMembers = £60  for individual tickets \nNon- members = £60  for individual tickets \nThere is also an opportunity to purchase a table for 10 \nCorporate Challenge members = £550 \nCorporate members = £600 \nTo register\, please click here. \nIf you require any further information about the event\, please contact Caroline Adams at caroline@cumbriafoundation.org \nWe hope you will be able to join us.
