About

The Big Sleep

The Big Sleep is a major fundraising challenge, giving you the opportunity to spend a night like no other before. The aim of the event is to raise money for the Winter Warmth Appeal.

The challenge is based on a smaller scale sleep out held by Chief Executive Andy Beeforth and a band of supporters above Stickle Tarn in 2013. Temperatures in recent years have reached lows of -11˚c (February 2012) at the Windermere site and we want you to brave the cold with nothing but a sleeping bag (a tent if its raining) and some friendly faces for company.

However it isn’t all about the challenge, as well as sleeping out and facing the cold of a winter’s night, you will get the chance to experience the unique atmosphere created by live music and a family movie, with Lake Windermere and the Langdale Pikes providing the most spectacular of backdrops you could ever wish for.
