How to give: Setting up a fund

Examples: Kipling Funds

Originally born in Westmorland, George Kipling lived and farmed at Burgh by Sands. He was a widower with no children and, after making provision in his will for relatives, he decided to dedicate the remainder of his estate to charity. Two Kipling Funds were established, the first to benefit children and the second for elderly people in need throughout Cumbria.

Grants from the Kipling Funds include Hallbankgate Village Playgroup, Derwent Valley Quilters, Burgh by Sands Sports and Recreation Association, Age Concern Cumbria and the Collective Circus in West Cumbria (pictured below).
