Cumbria Community Foundation’s mission is to connect people who care with causes that matter, thereby tackling genuine poverty and disadvantage, while strengthening Cumbrian communities and responding to emerging need.

Cumbria Community Foundation benefits Cumbrian communities by providing grant funding to individuals, families and organisations. We have been operating in the county since 1999 and in that time we have awarded over £25 million in grants to 4,000 organisations and 3,000 individuals through more than 60 grant-making funds.

Cumbria Community foundation benefits donors by connecting individuals, families, companies, charitable trusts and public sector bodies with inspirational, life-changing projects which address issues specific to Cumbrian communities. We also enable donors to create their own charitable trust with the backing of our knowledge of local communities and charities and our experience of trust administration.

Cumbria Flood Recovery Appeal

In December 2015 Cumbria Community Foundation launched the Cumbria Flood Recovery Appeal in response to the severe storms that brought extensive flooding to the county. The appeal is raising funds for individuals and families, as well as vital community organisations, who are experiencing hardship as a direct result of the storms. Through grant awards, the appeal is providing urgent assistance to those facing immediate hardship.
