One of our members, English Lakes Hotels, Resorts & Venues are marking their 60th anniversary by recognising Cumbria & North Lancashire’s community heroes. They are looking for nominations from anyone across the region that deserves special recignition for the work they do in the local community.

They will choose sixty different champions and each of the winners will be invited to attend a “Grant Garden Party”, which will be held on the lawns of Low Wood Bay Resort Hotel & marina on the shores of Windermere on 2nd September.

They are looking for individuals who give up their spare time to help others – maybe people who run youth groups or coach local youngsters, help protect the environment or look after elderly residents, or people who raise funds for local charites or organise key community events.

Judges will select 60 community heroes who will be the star guest at the Grand Garden party. The event will be a traditional affair with champagne afternoon tea on the lawns which overlook Windermere.

If there is anyone you would like to nominate as a community hero, please send their details to English Lakes outlining, in no more than 200 words, why you think the person deserves to be invited. Include their name, age and your contact details.

Nominations can be sent by mail or email to the following addresses:

info@englishlakes.co.uk or;

The deadline for entries is 10th August. Visit English Lakes Hotels for more info.
