A grant available to the parishes of Winscales, Great Clifton and Little Clifton to take local actions that contribute to tackling global and local environmental issues
Funded by Winscales Moor Windfarm Ltd, c/o Your Energy Ltd
How much is available?
The total fund is £131,950, over 25 years. A lump sum, together with an advance of the first five years’ payment will be £40,950, with additional annual payments of £4,550 from years 6 to 25.

A voluntary or community group or a local partnership
How much can you apply for?
- There is no minimum and maximum grant
- To ensure that the fund meets community needs Cumbria Community Foundation will meet twice yearly with representatives from the Parish. All projects must receive the support from this advisory panel.
Priorities
Projects and initiatives that promote or implement
- sustainable use of energy and energy efficiency
- sustainable use of other resources
- reducing climate change
- nature conservation
- charitable environmental projects that address the needs of the local community that have been identified by the community and Parish Councils
Examples of activities supported
- free information events about domestic solar or wind power
- energy efficient street lighting
- projects to improve the energy efficiency of residents on low incomes
- small turbine or solar panel installations
- care share initiatives / community bus
- free practical workshops about composting methods
- hedge restoration and wildflower planting schemes

We will not fund
- enhancement of habitat for sporting purposes
- zoos, captive breeding and animal rescue centres
- site improvements
- beautification competitions eg villages in bloom
- computers
- individuals
- photocopiers
