

Sport Relief
Using sport to tackle the exclusion and isolation experienced by some of the poorest and most disadvantaged communities
In the UK, Sport Relief will fund work which uses sport and exercise to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged. This may be through low income, rural or social isolation, age, disability, race, sexuality or gender.

Who can apply?
Voluntary and community organisations wishing to develop local community projects using sport and exercise
Last year we gave 16 grants for an average of £1,394 and approved 64% of applications

What will the fund support?
Community groups that are using sport to:
* increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation
* help people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives to regain confidence and self-esteem
We will not fund
* individuals
* statutory organisations such as schools
* trips abroad
* minibuses
* building costs or access adaptations to buildings
How much can you apply for?
Between £1.000 and £5,000 for voluntary and community organisations.
