Who can apply?

Charitable groups helping people facing disadvantage
particularly those supporting

* older adults or

* people with learning difficulties

Last year we gave 5 grants for an average of £1,065 and approved 71% of applications

The Trust will not normally fund

* computers
* expeditions
* individuals unless directed by the donor
* non-charitable sports or arts
* photocopiers
* promotion of religious doctrine
* vehicle purchase costs

How much can you apply for?

* maximum grant will normally be £2,500
* if you wish to apply for a larger amount please talk to Foundation staff before applying

We also administer a number of small funds using similar criteria which cover specific areas or ages (Cumbria Communities Fund, CN Group Fund, Cumberland and Westmorland Herald Fund, Kipling Fund for older people, Kipling Fund for younger people, Russell Armer Fund) and will automatically consider appropriate applications
