Nuclear Management Partners Ltd set up the fund to support projects that will help improve the lives of people in West Cumbria by raising their aspiration and achievement
£335,000 available this year
Please note that because of the number of applications we have so far only been able to fund one in three requests and we have had to reject many good applications. You will have a better chance if you ask for a smaller amount which could also make you eligible for other funds.
Who can apply?
Community based organisations providing activities that benefit people in Allerdale and/or Copeland

What the fund will support
Community facilities and projects that
help people learn new things and increase their personal confidence eg
- accredited and non accredited training
- community champions
- getting people involved in children’s learning outside of school
- visits to museums and art galleries
- mentoring and peer support
get people involved in their community eg
- improving community venues
- intergenerational initiatives
- interfaith activities
- increasing the use of arts and sports projects
- volunteer development
make the community a better place to live, eg
- creating new community gardens
- tidying up local eyesores
- reducing anti-social behaviour
What the fund will not support
* computers except in special circumstances
* non-charitable sports or arts
* promotion of religious doctrine
How much can you apply for?
Grants will range from £3,000 to £100,000 over one to five years. The maximum grant for any financial year will be £40,000. (Awarding the maximum grant will be exceptional. The average annual grant size is expected to be £10,000.)
Grants for individuals
The NMP Community Fund will also make grants to individuals
