Grants to support community projects improving the knowledge of the public about agriculture, forestry and the countryside environment

Funded by part of the proceeds of the dissolution of the Crofton Charitable Trust

Purpose of the Fund
To promote, maintain, improve and advance education of the public, particularly by the provision of exhibitions, displays, demonstrations, lectures and conferences relating to agriculture, forestry and the countryside environment and the development and maintenance of agricultural land and buildings and woodland for educational purposes

How much money is available?
£1,500 annually

Who can apply?

Voluntary and community groups

Examples of the sorts of projects the Fund would like to assist:

    • support for conferences
    • contribution towards a lecture series
    • field days
    • scholarships and bursaries
    • support to practical demonstration projects

    The fund will not normally support

      • computers
      • expeditions
      • photocopiers  
      • promotion of religious doctrine
      • vehicle purchase costs
      • individuals

      How much can you apply for?
      There will be no maximum or minimum grant level, but the average grant is expected to be £500

      We also administer a number of other funds. We will automatically consider appropriate applications to those funds.
