Easy to access grants for groups working with young people

Funded by money raised by Cumbrian High Sheriffs during their year in office

£1,000 available this year. The fund value will vary from year to year. This year applications from Allerdale are particularly welcome.

Who can apply?
* Groups helping young people facing disadvantage
* Priority will be given to groups whose activities primarily target young people involved with crime or in danger of becoming involved in antisocial behaviour or crime

Last year we gave 4 grants for an average of £488 and approved all applications

Examples of activities the fund would like to support
· holiday schemes
· anti-bullying projects
· anti-racism projects
· projects that support young people in care or leaving care
· projects that support young people who have been excluded from mainstream education
· projects that support young people who are in the youth justice system

We will not fund
* computers
* individuals
* non-charitable sports or arts organisations
* outings except in special circumstances
* photocopiers
* promotion of religious doctrine
* vehicle purchase costs

How much can you apply for?
The maximum grant will normally be £1,000 over one year
