Applying for a grant: children and young people

Grants available throughout Cumbria:

Comic Relief
Up to £10,000 for sport or community activities

Crofton Trust Fund
Around £500 to support community projects improving the knowledge of the public about agriculture, forestry and the countryside environment

Cumbria Cultural Fund
Up to £500 to promote excellence in the arts and cultural life of Cumbria

Cumbria Flood Recovery Funds
Usually up to £1,000 initially for individuals and families suffering from the floods including flood resilence measures of up to £2,000 and up to £10,000 for groups supporting them

Edmond Castle Educational Trust
Up to £500 for individuals and £1,000 for groups for activities and equipment which support the education and training of disadvantaged young people in Cumbria (prioritising young people who are or have been looked after by Cumbria County Council)

Environment Fund
Around £2,000 for groups to demonstrate how local action can contribute to tackling global environmental issues

Foundation Grants
Up to £5,000 for small projects

Grassroots Grants
Up to £5,000 for small voluntary and community groups

High Sheriff's Crimebeat Fund
Up to £1,000 for groups working with young people facing disadvantage

HSBC Environment Fund
Up to £1,000 for groups working on environmental issues

n2n Fund (Nought to Nineteen)
Up to £7,000 a year to support positive activities for children and young people

Roselands Trust
Up to £2,500 for charitable activities especially for older people and people with learning difficulties

Youth Work Aid Fund
Groups upporting youth aged 12 upwards

Cumberland Educational Foundation Grants
Up to £1,000 to widen access to sport and the arts

Mary Grave Trust
Up to £1,012 to help young people in West Cumbria broaden their horizons through foreign travel

Grants available in Allerdale, Barrow and Copeland only:

Fluor Cumbria Fund

Up to £3,000 for groups in the Sellafield travel to work area

 

Grants available in parts of Allerdale and Copeland only:

BNFL 'Live the Dream' Fund
Up to £2,000 for 11-25 year olds in Allerdale and Copeland for study or vocational training

Bridging the Gap
Up to £5,000 for groups in ex-coalfields area of West Cumbria

NMP Community Fund - grants for groups
Up to £100,000 for projects that will help improve the lives of people in West Cumbria by raising their aspiration and achievement

NMP Community Fund - grants for individuals
Up to £3,000 for training or a qualification that will improve employment opportunities or benefit the wider community

Nuvia Cumbria Fund
Up to £300 for youth and environmental projects in and around the Nuvia site (West Cumbria)

Grants available in Allerdale only:

Allerdale Community Fund
Up to £5,000 for small groups to improve local communities throughout Allerdale

Allerdale Youth Bank
Up to £500 for activities for Allerdale youth groups

Joyce Wilkinson Charitable Trust
Mainly for groups operating or providing services in or close to the parishes of Rosley and Westward

Lamont Pridmore Fund
Up to £500 for small groups supporting children and young people in Allerdale

Robin Rigg West Cumbria Fund
Up to £15,000 for environmental activities in West Allerdale

 

Grants available in Barrow only:

Barrow Community Trust
Up to £1,000 for small community groups in Barrow Island, Central, Hindpool, Ormsgill and Risedale wards

 

Grants available in Carlisle only:

Carlisle Youth Bank
Up to £500 for Carlisle youth groups

Up to £2,000 for projects supporting disabled, older and younger people and children in the former Westmorland county area

Cumberland and Westmorland Herald Fund

Up to £500 for groups benefiting people living in the Herald's main circulation area (including Penrith, Appleby in Westmorland, Kirkby Stephen and Alston

 

Grants available in parts of South Lakeland only:

Kirkby Moor Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

A fund for charitable activities for local communities located close to the Kirkby Moor Wind Farm
