Who can apply?
* groups in these wards:
o Barrow Island
o Central
o Hindpool
o Ormsgill
o Risedale
For other wards please also look at details of the similar Cumbria Communities Fund programme available throughout Barrow Borough.
* groups with an annual income up to £25,000 in the last financial year
* the Trust will favour new and small groups
Last year we gave 4 grants for an average of £925 and approved 25% of applications
Examples of activities supported
* music promotion
* swimming coaching
* equipment for young people's groups
* tents for Guides' groups
but can support a wide range of activities for small and new groups

We will not fund
* computers
* expeditions
* individuals
* non-charitable sports or arts
* outings except in special circumstances
* photocopiers
* promotion of religious doctrine
* revenue costs
* vehicle purchase costs
How much can you apply for?
* maximum will normally be £1,000
* projects should cost no more than £25,000
We also administer a number of small funds using the same criteria and will automatically consider appropriate applications
